I’ve recently come across a blog post listing several websites you can join for free to earn money online.

I’ve researched a little further and found a few more. Before you scroll down the page to check them, I would like you to think of this: a lot of people do not have the money to invest in starting their own online business when they first come to the Internet. Maybe you are in such a situation.

What if by using one or more of the websites listed here you could make, say, 100 bucks per month?

I know, I know…100 bucks seems very little when compared to the bills you have to pay or the credit card debt you have accumulated BUT 100 bucks is enough money for you to

a) register your own domain name;

b) pay for webhosting;

c) pay for an autoresponder account;

d) outsource 10-20 articles you can use as content for your website.

And this, my broke reader, this is the beginning of your online business, without spending a single cent of your own money!

Enough said. Here is the list of websites:

1. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome – get paid to perform individual tasks.

2. http://www.usertesting.com/BeTester/index.aspx# – get paid to review websites.

3. http://www.ciao.co.uk/ – Get paid to write short product reviews.

4. http://www.contentcurrent.com/write – Get paid to write content(forum and blog posting).

5. http://www.451press.com/write/ – Get paid to write content for blogs.

6. http://www.hits4pay.com – get paid to read emails.

7. http://www.matrixreward.com – get paid to sign up for special offers.

8. http://www.treasuretrooper.com/ – get paid to complete offers, do cash back shopping, get paid for finding stuff.

9. http://www.cashcrate.com – get paid to try stuff out.

10. http://www.articleincome.com – get paid to write content.

11. http://www.99designs.com – get paid to make graphics.

12. http://www.crowdspring.com – get paid to make graphics.

13. http://www.expotv.com - get paid to do video reviews.

14. http://www.zoomandgo.com – Get paid to share pictures.

15. http://www.break.com – Get paid to upload silly, stupid and crazy videos.

I hope you will make good use of them. Best luck!

Working from home is a dream for many – but actually going ahead and starting a home business may have some difficulties. Maybe you became interested in setting up a home business because you’ve seen an ad somewhere, or you’ve been approached by someone. It was all about a great work-from-home money-making opportunity, and you’re excited. Finally, you can quit your job!

If you’re thinking of working from home, though, you have to realize that around 95% of the offers out there are scams – after all, if it was that easy to pay a few dollars and make thousands, wouldn’t everyone be doing it by now? Here’s a list of some of the scams out there, how to recognise them, and how to avoid them.

Envelope Stuffing

This is the most established work-from-home scam, and it’s been going for decades now. Basically, once you pay your money and sign up to work from home, you’re sent a set of envelopes and ads just like the one you responded to. You might make some money if someone responds to your ad, but eventually there just won’t be a market for it any more. This is just an illegal pyramid scheme.

Charging for Supplies

This is the way almost all work-at-home scams work, including the envelope stuffing. You’ll be asked to make a small ‘investment’ for whatever materials would be needed to do the work – and then you’ll be sent very shoddy materials that aren’t worth anything like what you paid, and you’ll find that there’s no market for the work anyway.

If anyone asks for money upfront, run. A real company should be willing to deduct any ‘fees’ from your first paycheque – if they won’t do that, then it’s because they don’t ever plan to pay you. One exception to this: some companies do charge you for a background check fee, which is required because of the kind of work you’ll perform, involving sometimes confidential data from companies.

Assembling Work for Free

This is most common with crafts. You might be asked to work at home making clothes, ornaments or toys. Everything seems legitimate – you get the materials without paying out any money, and you’re doing the work. Unfortunately for you, when you send the work back, the company will tell you that it didn’t meet their ‘quality standards’, and will refuse to pay you. Then they’ll sell on what you made at a profit, and move on to the next sucker.

Only do craft work from home if you’re selling the items yourself. Note that you don’t need to be selling to consumers (you could be selling to wholesalers), but you still need to be the one deciding what you make and getting the money.

Home Typing, Medical Billing, and More

Lots of work-from-home scams try to persuade you that some industry has more work than it can handle, and so has to outsource to people working from home. For example, you might be told that you’d be typing legal documents, or entering medical bills into an electronic database. These scams have one thing in common: they all say that all you need is your computer, and they all then go on to say that you need to buy some ‘special software’.

This software might appear to be from a completely unrelated company, but don’t be fooled – the whole reason the ‘work-from-home’ ad was there to begin with was simply as marketing for the software.

Finding real work at home jobs is not an easy task. Those who have taken the time to search the Net have experienced incredible difficulty in coming up with true work at home results. What is mostly found online are offers of so-called “opportunities” that normally involve MLM or Networking programs when not some outright scams disguised as legit work at home jobs, like fake data entry, envelope stuffing, craft assembly. Not mentioning the get-rich-quick promises so many programs and products use to lure people into spending their hard earned money. Unfortunately, most people fall into these traps because of their lack of knowledge or their desperate financial situation.

The latest trend are the review sites. Highly search-engine-optimized websites present “reviews” of work at home products and opportunities giving them a “popularity” rank that in most cases is directly related to the amount of commission they pay to the “reviewer”… A tipical case is the famous “Ultimate Wealth Package”. For several years this scam product sold through ClickBank was constantly ranked by “reviewers” as the best work from home opportunity. Only after several thousand people who were scammed started filing claims and asking for refunds some of these review sites have cleared out this rubbish. So did ClickBank.

Despite all the internet hype and crap, real work at home jobs do exist. How to find them is the big question. The first step is to search in the right places. And by right places I do not necessarily mean Google or other search engines and here is the reason: if you search Google for work at home online jobs it will return thousands of links. How will you tell the scams from the legitimate stuff? How will you know if an ad or a review is for real? How will you know which companies offer a position that suits you and your skills?

A good way to gather useful information is through forums and yahoo/google groups of people who share the same interest. Just watch out for people that join these groups to advertise their affiliate programs…

Here are more tips: a) companies that offer real work at home jobs do not ask for upfront money or charge training materials fees; b) beware of  scare tactics like “act now or miss” on job ads; c) if the promised income looks too good to be true, then it more than likely is; d) reply to offers of work-at-home opportunities with the five basic questions you can read here;

Another safe way to get information is through a good work at home guide. I place “The Ultimate Work At Home Guide” in this category. It comprises three reports totalling eighty pages of clear, honest, hype-free updated information about:

1) more than 150 real life companies that offer legit work at home jobs without charging anything for it; a complete overview of the type of work they offer, the minimum requirements and the equipment necessary to perform the tasks;

2) how to make extra money from home with surveys; several tips and techniques to get the most out of them and avoid scams; more than 500 survey companies listed by country;

3) how to make money with online writing no matter if you have any writing skills or not; a list of over 50 websites that pay you to write; two action plans to generate fast cash through writing; two simple and costless methods to effective affiliate marketing;

More than just listing names, “The Ultimate Work At Home Guide” is a work at home help that explains the exact steps you need to follow to begin your own home business using mostly free resources available on the Net.

This package doesn’t have the traditional hyped-up sales page or fancy graphics and ecovers but it is exactly what I have previously stated: a good, honest work at home guide that shows how and where to find the real work at home jobs most people are looking for.
